Design Brief
The latest design from the boards of Jutson Yacht Design is this gorgeous new 39 footer with a unique interior layout that will accommodate the owner's requirements for a home away from home. The design reflects Jutson's unique design sense in this field which combines proven seaworthiness and miserly fuel usage with a visual appeal that is both fresh and practical.
Interior
The 39 is designed as a platform for two people to live aboard in comfort wile cruising coastal US and inland lakes. The Jutson 39 incorporates a sumptuous owner's hull with full access bed, a desk/workstation and a large bathroom with separate shower.
The opposite hull has a step down galley with full amenities, a day toilet and a TV/entertainment lounge area which separates this sometimes noisy and personal function from the other living areas. Alternatively this area can be converted to a double cabin thus expanding the live aboard potential to a family of four.
Main deck living is open and spacious with separate dining area (which converts to an additional double berth), general seating and, of course, a fully featured helm control station.
The aft deck has a wet
bench and a servery with clothes washer/drier below.
Special features of the aft deck are fold down aircraft style steps from the
centre combing and a louvring roof that allows for variable ventilation and
sunlight. The system is weather tight when closed and is simple to operate
and install.
Power for the first vessel
will be by twin Mercruiser 300hps for two reasons: one is that hull number
1 will spend most of it's life on the Lakes of central Texas where diesel
fuel is rare and second, to provide pulling power for (larger) skiers. Top
speed with this package will be 27 knots. Alternatively, diesel propulsion
is available from 170 to 230 hp for a top speed of 23-25 knots.
