70' Custom Luxury Power Catamaran

Design Brief

"Rocko" at 20 knots on the Broadwater, during sea trials in April 2000

Launched in April 2000 this unique Jutson 70ft power catamaran and was built on the Queensland Gold Coast by Meridian Power and Sail. The design was for an experienced power cat owner based in Japan who has made efficiency and cruising range his main criteria. As a result the vessel utilises efficient low wash hulls with high underwing clearance for sea kindliness which will give a range of 1200 nautical miles with a top speed of 20 knots. This is achieved with relatively small engines of 420 hp per hull.

The main salon offers spacious views and several living areas as well as protected access to the fly bridge. The bridge is fully enclosed and air-conditioned. A sauna and cold water plunge pool is a feature in the port hull.

The accommodation is mainly in the hulls with two staterooms and a four-berth guest cabin. A large well appointed galley is in the starboard hull.

Versions

Due to the overwhelming interest shown in this design we have put together a number of layout options for this vessel. As well as the original layout we now have a sport fishing and charter/on-water accommodation version. The latter being a versatile arrangement allowing for a large number of guests or for luxurious accommodation for business uses. Details of costings and delivery times for all versions are available from Meridian Power and Sail.

Alternate profiles have also been considered, for these, refer to the 'Design Gallery' section.
